About
A studio that ships, not pitches.
ThinkMPI is the consumer-product brand of SFHL Innovations Private Limited. We've spent twelve years carrying products through every stage of the lifecycle — most agencies hand off after design; most manufacturers won't tell you the design has a problem. We do both, with the same project lead, idea to retail shelf.
Origin
ThinkMPI was founded with a simple frustration: brands kept hiring three vendors for a single product launch — a design agency, an electronics consultant, and a manufacturer — and the seams between them were where the project bled time, money, and quality. The bet was that one studio carrying the project end-to-end could deliver a better product, faster, with the founder still talking to the same people in month nine that they met in week one.
In 2016, that bet was independently validated when ThinkMPI was selected as a Top-50 Finalist in the India Innovation Growth Programme — a joint initiative of the Department of Science and Technology (Government of India), Lockheed Martin, and IIM Bangalore. The programme picks fifty Indian innovators a year out of thousands. The selection sat us in the same room as the people we'd grown up reading about.
Where we sit in the SFHL portfolio
ThinkMPI is a brand. The legal entity is SFHL Innovations Private Limited (GSTIN 07ABNCS7462D1Z1). All commercial contracts, statements of work, and invoicing flow through SFHL — ThinkMPI is the surface clients engage with for product-development work.
Sister brands under SFHL: SecureMe Devices (industrial worker-safety wearable platform — securemedevices.com) and the SFHL parent studio site (sfhl.space) which lists the broader engagement portfolio.
Founder
Ashish Sharma founded ThinkMPI and continues to run the studio as principal. Engineer-founder background. The "the founder is the person who reviews your first production batch" promise is meant literally — Ashish is on the call with vendors, on the floor for first-PO supervision, on the line when the QC question comes back.
Beyond the founder, ThinkMPI engages domain experts (mechanical, electronics, embedded firmware, manufacturing process, regulatory) on a per-project basis from a vetted bench built up over a decade of partnerships. The team you meet on day one is the team that ships in month nine.
How we charge
ThinkMPI engagements are typically structured as monthly retainers (₹3L–₹5L+ GST) with a one-year lock-in and a three-month notice period. Project-based work is also possible for tightly-scoped single-stage briefs. The first conversation is 30 minutes, on us, no strings — we figure out together whether we're the right studio.
Standard SLA is 48–72 hours for any reported issue during an active engagement. Stepwise delivery means you sign off at the end of each pillar before the next begins — no committee surprises, no scope creep buried in change orders.
What we won't do
We don't take on products we don't believe in. We don't brand-of-convenience: we won't put our name on something that's been designed by someone else and we're "just manufacturing." We don't run discovery in eternal cycles — if month two doesn't have a working prototype in hand, the project's not yours, it's ours, and that's a problem. We say no a lot. The "no" is usually the most valuable thing in the first conversation.
A 30-minute conversation, on us.
Bring the constraint — budget, deadline, regulatory hurdle, or "we have an idea". We'll come back with whether we're the right studio for it.
